Additional Info on Red Cross 'Support Our Troops'

  • Gaithersburg Soup Kitchen - Wesley Grove parishoners work the soup kitchen four times a year, the fifth Monday of any month.

  • Holiday Baskets - Our members receive names from Faith Connections (formerly DELAI), which takes referrals from Montgomery County Social Services of families who are in need at the holidays. We prepare food baskets and gift packages for each member of the family.

  • Apportionments - Every year, Wesley Grove meets it's apportionment payments in full. These moneys are used by the Unied Methodist Church for international missions and for general operations of the church.

  • Special Projects - Wesley Grove supports several projects each year, giving both to international relief organizations and local charitable work.

  • Charity Resource - Wesley Grove has identified community charities that fill many critical needs. Those with 'needs' are encouraged to contact these organizations for help. We also encourage direct individual donations to any charity, especially these:

    Local Charities

    Faith Connections
    Damascus Help
    MANNA Foods of Montgomery County

    Area Charities

MISSIONS NEWS - We will be providing Thanksgiving food baskets to four needy local Damascus families this Holiday season. If you would like to help:

you can purchase non-perishable items, purchase perishable items, contribute money for whatever is needed and/or sign up for delivery to one of the families. The non-perishable food items are due to the Church on Sunday, November 15th. If you want to purchase perishables or can help with deliveries, please contact Jackie Hottinger. Drivers for deliveries will meet at the Hall on Saturday, November 21 at 9:00 a.m.

We will provide gifts and Christmas food baskets to the same four families and that information will follow.
