The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) assists churches in direct ministry to persons in need in the areas of emergency response, hunger and poverty, and refugees and immigration. Donations to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) may be sent through a local United Methodist church, Annual Conference, or by mailing the check directly to UMCOR. MISSIONS NEWS

Damascus Help would like you to consider designating your United Way and Combined Federal Campaigns' contributions to Damascus Help, Inc. Our designation code for United Way is 8425 and for the Combined Federal Campaign it is 30335. Damascus Help is an all volunteer organization who helped over 4,000 people in 2009 in our service area of Damascus, Clarksburg, Hyattstown, north Laytonsville, Frederick County south of Rt. 75 and Germantown north of Brink Rd. We provide food, financial assistance, furniture and transportation to those in need and help coordinate the School Supply Project and the Holiday Giving Program.   • Gaithersburg Soup Kitchen at St. Martin of Tours Parish - Wesley Grove parishioners prepare and serve a meal when a month has five Mondays.

  • Holiday Baskets - Our members receive names from Faith Connections (formerly DELAI), which takes referrals from Montgomery County Social Services of families who are in need. We prepare food baskets and gift packages for each member of the family.

  • United Methodist Church/Baltimore-Washington Conference - Every year, Wesley Grove meets its apportionment payments in full. These funds are used by the United Methodist Church for international missions and for general operations of the church.

  • Special Projects - Wesley Grove supports several projects each year, giving to both international relief organizations and local charitable work.

  • Charity Resources - Wesley Grove has identified community charities that fill many critical needs. Those with 'needs' are encouraged to contact these organizations for help. We also encourage direct individual donations to any charity, especially the following:
